~ Weekend fun ~

Above is the Before picture of this falling apart cabinet...

I love attics, or at least visiting mine now and then, its the cheapest store anywhere :) its free :)
Plus it gave me an hour or two of some extended fun creating something new out of my Junk ;)

Sooooo, this is my After.......

I painted and distressed it a bit and added some decorative paper behind the shelves to give it new life...much better...:)
And a few other finds ;) I hit TJ Maxx for a quick run in, ya just never know ;) and I loved the creamy pumpkin, I figured it needed a home , so I rescued it from the shelves and found the creamy tea canister too ;)
I saw this little metal sign ( vintage style ) it says: "Enjoy the Journey" and thought this would be a perfect addition to my cabinet....at the bottom of this post I show more of them ...
another view....
More weekend trills....
I love the UPS truck ;) it brings me so much Joy, lol ;) On Saturday this darling little Apron arrived that I had ordered from Cherry Blossom Cottage! I love it Ronda! perfect for my kitchen ! Thanks so much for such unique and pretty items!
The fabric up close is just to die for cute and Vintage!
Getting some new paint at Micheal's Craft was supposed to be an in and out deal....lol....but then came a big distraction, so many things were 60% off !! .... and when I saw this Robins egg blue planter, I screamed ;) Sooooo me! and it was only $6.99!! Yippee ;)
Up close its so pretty, I was so happy to grab this :)
My jaunt to Micheal's ended up being much longer , lol, I kept finding so many neat things. I saw these cute little metal signs ( the are self adhesive , yippee ) and knew Id find places for them ;) They have a sweet vintage feel to them too! I knew id be using them for the cabinet but....
I liked one on my spice rack too.....I was getting mini sign crazy, lol, looking around for places to put them ;) Im sure I'll find more places ;)
I hope you all are enjoying a lovely weekend ! ~ hugs ~ Cynthia

Cynthia!!!!!!!!!! That was such a pretty restoration. I love love love that color and so you know what I am going to ask...what is it?
I struggle with the placement of things on my walls. I have zoomed in and studied your placement. It is just darling. You are a great decorator. I enjoy looking at your home.

That cabinet is so cute! You did a great job painting and distressing it. I love a cabinet like that with shelves that you can change out the accessories for a different look. I also love that planter you got at Michaels. I have seen it before and thought it was so pretty!

Morning Cynthia! So many pretty things to look at but that cabinet is outstanding! I thought in the first pic it was a large hutch and you cut it down!lol It came out sooo pretty; love the new accessories. I had my eye on a similar canister at Homegoods and I'm loving white pumpkins this year; Michaels I am trying to stay out of but just may have to go there this week; I've picked up so many decor items and its one of my fav places to go! Thanks for a fun Monday morning - Sincerely, Jeannette

Okay I want to shop in your attic to!! That turned out soooo cute! I love the color and those little signs are sweet. I always look at the scrapbooking stuff, I wish I could make myself scrapbook but wow can you imagine how expensive that could be there are to many cute things to go in them. Your vase is so pretty and the color is perfect.

I love the cabinet. I have a weakness for little cabinets. I have several that I would like to put in a grouping on one wall. Maybe I'll get to it someday.

Hi Cynthia, Thank you for visiting me today! I love the cottage style. The cabinet you painted looks great! I paint furniture too, I found a little table for $1 the other day. I couldn't believe it! It was in pretty bad shape, but it just needed a little paint! I'll have it on my blog sometime. Thank you for your nice comments on my home. I'll be visiting you often! Kristen

Hi Cynthia!

You mentioned two of my FAVORITE stores, Michael and TJ Maxx! I can spend hours or both of those places. In fact, I went to Michaels at lunch and took an "extended" lunch hour. Ha! TJ Maxx...I LOVE their home decor. It's amazing what you can find there and so cheap..exactly what you did. I love your cupboard and the pumpkin and little sign are adorable and so fitting!

Hi Cynthia,
I love your cabinet too!! You know what I love about your decor. You use all colors and it all works. That is what I am trying to do...not get too hung up on matchy matchy....my style is truly eclectic and I need to just follow my heart. Sometimes I think I truly overthink designing a room. It works much better if I just let it evolve!

I love those little signs. I saw those at Michaels too.

Hugs,
LeAnn:)

Hi Cynthia! I found your blog through Cindy's blog, "My Romantic Home," and I'm so glad I did! I LOVE how you fixed up your gorgeous cabinet and the way you used the little signs from Michael's. Also, the pot you got at Michael's is SO PERFECT that I MUST have one, LOL!!! Wonder if my Michael's has one???
