~ A quiet simple day ~

Hello sweet friends! I don't get them very often, but when I do, I relish them...Those quiet simple days...I cut some Lilacs and set them buy the sink where I can catch the scent often...

Washed some bowls and treasures that sit on shelves and don't get used much....

Rearranged one of my kitchen hutches....

Threw away a basket of silk flowers and replaced the top with cookbooks....

Carefully washed the Royal Albert vintage china...

Did a little blog surfing ......( Not near as much as I wanted ) ....Don't you just love Fabulous Fifi ? if you don't know the very famous blog, stop over, what eye candy and what a wonderful lady too! This is such a beautiful outdoor set up, don't you think?

(Romantic Country mag.)

Then I scoured my resources online to find this sofa, but it looks like I'm going to find the fabric ( much easier ) and have mine recovered....Isn't this so sweet?

(bhg)

Well that was my quiet simple day......I hope you have one too! They rejuvenate me :) Now I want to spend the next one visiting all of you! I've been so busy that I don't get to stop in and see as many blogs as I'd like to, but this week I am doing just that! I've missed my blogging friends and I'm coming for coffee, get the pot on :) ....

Wishing you all a wonderful week!

Hugs and love,

~Cynthia~

Hi Cynthia! Oh, how nice to have such a sweet satisfying day! I love how you decorate your home and that shot of the little red sofa is adorable!
Now, I'm having a special party this Friday, May 7th and would love you to come. It's a little silly and you're probably too dignified to do silly, but I would love to see you there.
be a sweetie,
Shelia ;)

Come on by! I have the kettle on and a few sweet goodies just waiting for you;)!

I love days like these...it is so much fun to just play around the house and enjoy the fruits of our labor! I wish I had lilac growing in my yard...sadly I must get mine at the nursery!

Your hutch updates are beautiful...I adore the books stacked on top and your china is stunning!

Enjoy!

Sweet Cynthia. It seems like forever since we've chatted.
I would love to have a day to just "do". it seems my days have been so busy lately, swaps to make and places to go, laundry, work . . . the list goes on. It was nice to come visit you and just relax for a few minutes.
LOVE the fabric. It'll look so cute!
The lilacs . . . I can smell them. My jasmine ~ I have an entire 40' long wall covered with it ~ is getting ready to BURST into bloom. Come to think of it . . . that's when I'd like my "be" day. When I have time to sit out in the patio and just breathe!
Have a wonderful day! {{hugz}} Karen

Cynthia....I have fresh cut lilacs next to my sink too! I love the aroma! My sister lives blocks from Fifi's home and went to her garage sale she had a year ago or so and bought me some things. She surprised me with a package in the mail! I was thrilled!~Patti

Hi, Cynthia -
I enjoyed sharing your quiet day with you. I'm having a day at home for the first time in many weeks. I'm enjoying the quiet time to visit some blogs, do a bit of catch up at home, listen to soft music in the background and just do whatever comes my way. Your lilacs were perfect by your sink. Mine are almost finished blooming now. Time to find something else to bring inside! I loved the red plaid sofa with the ruffle. I copied the picture to save - my sofa would be gorgeous with a slipcover styled like that. In blue! Maybe, maybe not - perhaps there would be another color that would be the perfect change. Thanks for sharing your quiet day with us.

This blog reveals a welcoming, comfortable, and peaceful place that you share as your home. It always feels so happy when I visit here. A bouquet of lilacs by the kitchen sink is such a beautiful look. The shelves that you arrange and rearrange always look so creatively done. It is a privilege to spend time here, and your closing words to everyone make me want to come back soon. Thank you!

I'm glad you had a lovely day Cynthia! I too am a lilac lover. It's my favorite flower. I remember picking them when I was a little girl walking home from school. Your hutch looks pretty.

I LOVE that adorable covered dish with the bear and berries!! All your treasures are soooo pretty! I have enjoyed what few lilacs I had this year too. DANDELIONS were the bloomers this spring unfortunately! That sofa will be TOO DARLING! I am gaga over gingham, check and plaid and especially in red! I took a few of those fun project days too...they are great. You have a WONDERFUL Mother's Day! Sue in Mich.

Cynthia,
What a nice post, I feel like I just stopped for a visit. Days like that are the best. I had one last week and I cut lilac too. Just love the scent. Your home is just so pretty and that couch would fit right in.
Happy Mother's Day.
