Dollhouse Miniature love ...

Hello Friends! It's been a busy couple of weeks, but here I am with some new miniatures and lots of kitchen love... This one is pretty much full of pictures, so grab some tea or whatever you love and come along for a tour of some of my favorite things I've worked on this month. It begins with this Jelly cabinet which I adore. Making jam and jellies has always been a favorite of mine. I love the pure sweetness of homemade jams, and with this cabinet I made, I wanted to keep them simple and let the natural light shine through...so that's where we begin :)

I refurbished this piece and gave it a pretty stainless look top. I love mixing the stainless with chippy white and roses, its so fresh and vintage sweet to me!

Canned strawberries and Honey :)

Pretty little jellies...

I've also been working on re-doing some aspects of Summer Rose, for the Spring and Summer ahead, I wanted to give my favorite dollhouse a lighter more airy feel. Simpler too...so I played with some ideas and hopefully will reveal the new look soon!

Using the pretty trend of natural elements and burlap , I had lots of fun playing :)

Simple and Sweet, my 2 favorite words... :)

I'm really loving the look, what do you think?

The little vintage oven I love...I've photographed this many times, but I just adore rearranging things on it. That's what dollhouse are for and you're never too old to play :)!!

I found a morning to re-do the cupboards and pantry also, which after I finished, I was happy with...So, I motivated myself to get to the real ones in my kitchen, and spent the rest of that day cleaning the "real" kitchen cupboards and pantry.  Miniatures can be very motivating that way! :)

Plus, who doesn't love an organized Pantry?! {other 2 images:Pinterest}.

I love miniature groceries and pantry items...

And I love Lavender sweets too! So I baked up some new goodies ,  lit a lavender scented candle in my kitchen and went to work on them. When I set out to create miniatures, setting the mood is important to me. It helps me stay focused, calm, and keeps me inspired...

In real life, I LOVE lavender cookies, so I couldn't wait to try them in mini...If you haven't tried them , you must! They are like a shortbread with a touch of lavender taste and just so delicious!

Lavender Love

Lavender Cake is fabulous too!

In between all the "busies" I found some time to make a couple of things for my Etsy shop. Which I hope to do more of next week!

“Imagination is the beginning of creation. You imagine what you desire, you will what you imagine, and at last, you create what you will” – George Bernard Shaw

A little of my real life kitchen :)

Some baking love...

Creating miniatures is nothing short of joyful!

and sweet...

Well it's back to the drawing board as they say... I'll be working on the updates for Summer Rose, getting some new designs ready for Etsy, waiting for Spring and the snow to melt, spending time with the real 3 minis I call kidlets, seeing friends, and just soaking up life as much as I can. I hope your week is finding you happy and blessed and thank you always for being so darn lovely! :) xo

Love and appreciation , Cynthia xo

Simply delightful to look at and your storytelling is always so sweet. I went to the Northwest Dollhouse Miniature Show at the Seattle Center on Saturday and what fun I had admiring all of the artisans work. I have to say that my favorite was at a booth called "Tiny Timbers". The ladies name was Carole and she was the builder. She was showing and telling me all about her chicken coop. It was so cool. She proudly showed me the cover of the magazine that it was featured on. It's a magazine I know you are familiar with; "An American Miniaturist". I believe it was featured in Feb. 2011. Check it out if you have a chance. It would be the perfect accompaniment to your farmhouse dollhouse. I thoroughly enjoyed every teeny tiny detail as always. Gotta go make vegetarian lasagna for dinner now. Still anxiously awaiting pictures of your screened in porch! I know its not always simple, but the end result is definitely always sweet!! Hurry back!

It's so hard to tell the difference between your real kitchen and your mini kitchen!

Lovely attention to detail, as always.

Did you make all the jelly jars?

Also, did you use that wax stuff to hold your pantry items in place? I need to stick my items in my cabinets and I don't like getting the wax all over my paper goods. Any suggestions?

Your jelly jars are so cute especially when one realizes how small they really are. Of course, the jelly cabinet is absolutely charming with the little rose motifs. I love the screen door of Summer Rose. Looking forward to seeing the changes you have mentioned. I like the touch of burlap! You certainly have a well-stocked pantry. Keep on being inspired, Cynthia! I love what comes of your inspirations.

Hi Cynthia,

I LOVE your dollhouse pictures! You do such a wonderful job sharing your passion for what you do.

Every time I think I have a favorite room or miniature piece...there you go redecorating or making something new, haha!

Loved your idea of adding the stainless look top to the jelly cabinet.(But right now I my favorite is the burlap chair with the flowers, did you make it?)

I have a dollhouse that I am just beginning to make over and am considering re-doing the shingles. Did you do the shingles on your dollhouse (Summer Rose) yourself? If so, what process did you use to stain the shingles?

Thanks again Cynthia for all of the time your put into sharing your beautiful work.

xo,
Christy

What a lot of lovely things to look at www.cwmalls.com. Both your leather hobo bags are stunning in their own individual ways. What a lot of work went into both of them, your skills just keep getting better and better with everything you make.
