Time for a little change...

Hello friends! Lets have some cake to celebrate :) Mini cake of course :) I made a little change I want to tell you about.

Remember a few weeks ago I had expressed wanting to possibly streamline my "online" time to devote more time to creating and blogging etc?? Well if you're just popping in now, that was weighing a bit on me. I used to blog about once a week, sometimes 2, and then I added to my online life by opening an Instagram (super neat ) , the Mini-ologie sites, a pinterest for Mini-ologie, and my own Cynthia's Cottage Miniatures ( FB ) etc. Well needless to say , while I do appreciate and love online connections, it was all getting a bit much. I had a fan page for you all to see my daily updates on miniature making and then started updating in what felt like 5 places lol. So, I want one place for it all instead. That way, I could give it real quality, visit you all, and keep connected to all my wonderful friends! Since that would be impossible to connect together, I did the next best thing.

I am taking away my Cynthia's Cottage Miniature Fan page on Facebook. The link on the blog here (on the right) will now direct you to my personal  facebook page. That way, I can have you all there if you want to come join me , in one place for updates and connections! I'm still keeping the blog, and my instagram. I'm actually hoping for more blogging time now because I've simplified things :)

So if you'd like to keep updated on my Miniature work, ( and Etsy listings )  I'd love to have you send me a friend request there! It's: www.facebook.com/cynthialaurensperin     of course, that's IF you have a facebook. And if not, I will be blogging a bit more so I can see you here too :) I am probably going to open a pinterest account also, as I've always wanted one and have been working on the one for Mini-ologie. But honestly, it was just having the 2 places to post to that became a bit much. So I hope you understand!

Do you find yourself wanting to simplify and yet stay connected at the same time?
I'd love to hear your thoughts!

In the meantime, I hope you're all having a fabulous holiday season and staying healthy and blessed!!

Love, Cynthia xox

I know what you mean, I get overwhelmed if I have too many things going on at once. I would love to keep up with you on FB, I just sent my friend request!

Social media are fantastic. They allow us to share what we make, "meet" likeminded people from all over the world and so on. But keeping up with email, FB, twitter, blogging and reading and commenting on the blogs I follow can easily turn into a full time activity, especially with the time difference that comes with global networking. So when to make minis? I wouldn't want to go without but sometimes the days before social media seem very peaceful. :-)

Yes, it all does take quite a bit of time and I don't blame you for wanting to streamline. I will continue to read your blog and all of your FB posts. I am so happy we are following each other on Pinterest. I will warn you it is addictive and so much fun, but also a wonderful way to save ideas. I'll be looking forward to your pins!

Big Texas Hugs,
Susan and Bentley

Being from an area where there are no craft or fabric shops and no miniature club, my blog and the blogs I follow keep me in touch with what is happening in the miniatures world. I love the contact with other miniaturists and would not be without it. However, occasionally due to home and work commitments and trying to keep up with my daughter's activities, I do get a little stressed trying to keep up with it all. I tend to feel a bit guilty if I let my blog lapse for too long. It takes me all my time to keep up with my blog and the blogs I follow, I don't think I could handle any other media commitments at the moment.

Using social media to promote your business is necessary these days, as you know. However, there are so many! I used to have seven different places to post, blog, tweet, pin... and with that comes responsibility because once you commit to something, you have to make it work or risk your business not looking healthy. After a year or two of watching and learning, I kept the ones that really work for me - Blog, FB, Pinterest. That is enough, I think!
